FAQs

Your System Password

When do I use my system password?

There are 4 places where you will need to use your system password to gain access:

  • Telnet/SSH access to your account. Your system login and system password is required.
  • FTP access through your system username to your account requires your system password.
  • FrontPage access to your account requires your system login and system password.
  • To access your Master POP3 account (username@yourdomain.com) requires your system password

Note that when you change your system password access to all of the above will require your new password immediately.

Should I change the password originally assigned to me from Real Web Host?

This is a good idea since the new account password was sent to you via e-mail, which may be intercepted. Although it is very unlikely that the e-mail Real Web Host sent you notifying you that your account was setup had been intercepted by a third party, it is still possible. Therefore, we encourage you to change your password once your account is setup.

How do I change my system password?

Through your Control Panel click on "Change Password" under Tools in the main section (Site Administration) section of the page. Complete the form with the new information and click on "Save".

How long does it take to change my password?

Once you get a confirmation page stating that your password has been changed, your new password is in effect. Your system password is changed instantly everywhere you will need.

How can I retrieve a lost password?

If you have lost your password, submit a support ticket. We will generate a new password for you and send it to the email address on file.
