FAQs

E-mail Forwarders

What is an e-mail forwarder?

An e-mail forwarder is a special type of e-mail account which simply forwards all e-mail sent to a particular e-mail address @yourdomain.com to a specific POP3 e-mail account.

What is the difference between POP3 E-mail Account and an e-mail forwarder?

POP3 e-mail account is a special kind of e-mail account that comes with a login and password. A POP3 account allows the user to send and receive new messages from this e-mail address. An e-mail forwarder does none of the above, and only forwards all e-mail sent to a particular e-mail address @yourdomain.com to a specific POP3 e-mail account.

How many e-mail forwarders am I allowed to use?

You are allowed to create as many e-mail forwarders as you wish on your virtual server.

How do I create additional e-mail forwarders accounts on my account?

This is done easily through your Control Panel. Simply log into your Control Panel, then select "Aliases" from the menu on the left, then click on "Add Alias" button. Now fill in the name of the alias. If you wish to have this alias forwarded to an internal account, select it in the list next to "Forward To". Optionally, you may choose to have it forwarded to an external account by entering an email address in the field next to "Forward to: (Outside Address)" Once this is complete, press the "Add Alias" button and the forwarder will be created.

How do I edit or remove existing e-mail forwarders accounts?

This is done easily through your Control Panel. Simply log into your Control Panel, then select "Aliases" from the menu on the left, then click on the edit or delete icon to the right of the alias you wish to manage.

Am I allowed to sell my e-mail forwarders to others?

Certainly. We do not care what you choose to do with your e-mail forwarders as long as it does not violate our Acceptable Uses Policy. This includes selling your e-mail forwarders for profit.

Can my e-mail forwarders forward to any e-mail address?

Below is acceptable forwarding addresses for any one of your e-mail forwarders:

  1. POP3 account (@yourdomain.com), hosted by Real Web Host
  2. A POP3 account (@aol.com) not affiliated with Real Web Host
  3. Another e-mail forwarder not affiliated with Real Web Host

So in short, your forwarding address can be anything except for another e-mail forwarder on the same domain name.

I have an email forwarder setup. How do I keep the emails from accumulating on the server?

Setup the forwarder only, do not setup the actual email account on the server.
